Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), in association with Goraksha Samithi, would organize a padayatra on October 21 from Bhagyanagar Goseva Sadan to Indira Park. The Samithi demanded that the State government strictly enforce the provisions of Prohibition of Cow Slaughter and Animal Preservation Act of 1977.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Friday, Goraksha Samithi president Jasraj expressed his concern over filing of cases against Goraksha activists under Section 307 IPC for merely attempting to stop cow transportation and their illegal slaughtering. He urged the State government to emulate Gujarat in protecting the cow which is revered by the people.
Goraksha Pramukh T. Yadagiri Rao, T. Yaman Singh and others were present.
