Reacting to the call of IT Minister KT Ramarao to people to beat with “chappals” if anyone demands bribe for sanction of double bedroom houses, AICC secretary V Hanumantha Rao asked the former what to do if a leader fails to keep his promises.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Wednesday along with Ponnala Laxmaiah, VH called upon the people to beat the leader, who failed to keep his promises with chappal.
Another leader Ponnala alleged that the State government was purchasing power at high price from Chattisgarh burdening the people of Rs 1000 crore. He also alleged that the State government entered into an MoU with the Chattisgarh government without consulting experts. Stating that open bidding would take only 90 days, it was not correct for State government to say that it entered into MoU only to get power early. He demanded that the State government cancel the agreement with Chattisgarh State. (NSS)
