Congress senior leader V Hanumantha Rao has staged a silent dharna (Mouna Deeksha) while tying the black ribbon to his mouth before the Syndicate Bank located at Palamakula village in Nanganuru mandal in Medak district here on Thursday demanding the State and Central governments to address the currency problems of the people.
Speaking to the media earlier, VH alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was roaming here and there while skipping Parliament session. The Prime Minister was not in a position to answer to the questions raised by AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi and hence the Prime Minister was abstaining from attending the House.
He also questioned Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who opposed demonetisation of big notes in the beginning, to answer as to why he stopped criticizing the Centre after visiting the national capital. He said the people were facing severe problems with the demonetization of big notes and it will be known to the Prime Minister if he visited rural areas across the nation. (NSS)
