Congress leader V Hanumanth Rao has asked the BJP leaders to stop criticizing Mahatma Gandhi and first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Tuesday, VH alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi belittled Jawaharlal Nehru while delivering speech on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on the occasion of Patel’s birth anniversary on October 31. He made it clear that the Congress never spoke belittling Sardar Patel. “Modi was trying to lower the image of Pandit Nehru and enhancing Patel’s image”, he alleged. VH said it was not proper for Modi to say the Congress had failed to make Patel as Prime Minister because he belonged to Gujarat. (NSS)
