Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council Chairman Dr A Chakrapani today deferred swearing in of Venkat Rami Reddy, a Congress candidate who was elected as the MLC from the local bodies’ constituency of Nizamabad district following an objection raised by Telugu Desam MLC Narsa Reddy. When Mr Venkata Rami Reddy came to take the oath, armed with the High Court orders, setting aside the election of Narsa Reddy, the Telugu Desam member raised objection and stated that the court gave him four week’s time to approach the Supreme Court. After receiving the copies of High Court orders from both the candidates, the chairman put off the ceremony stating that he would administer the oath to Venkat Rami Reddy only after the courts clear the case. Talking to media persons at Council Hall, Narsa Reddy said that he was consulting legal experts to file a petition in the Supreme Court against the High Court orders. UNI
