Venkaiah slams AP ministers’ jibe on Guv

Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu today responded on the political slugfest of two Telugu States on “cash for vote” episode and slammed Andhra Pradesh ministers for making derogatory remarks against Governor ESL Narasimhan of common capital.

Talking to mediapersons after giving away prizes to 10th Class meritorious students in Swarna Bharathi Trust program in his home district Nellore, Venkaiah faulted two Chief Ministers K Chandrasekhar Rao and N Chandrababu Naidu for crossing swords instead of focusing on development of their own States. He expressed displeasure at the ministers for their senseless comments. “It is not proper to make such harsh and defaming comments against the Governor, he said, and found fault with AP ministers K Atchennaidu and Pattipati Pulla Rao for indulging in rhetoric against the Governor.
The Union minister’s remarks assume significance at a time when they retracted the same at the behest of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister. Venkaiah Naidu also said it is not good for them to make disparaging comments against the Governor. The two CMs should stop sparring and instead focus on the development of their States, he said. He also expressed displeasure at the prevailing political rivalry and ramifications of alleged phone-tapping and cash-for-vote scam case. (NSS)
