Giving a pat to two Chief Ministers K Chandrasekhar Rao and N Chandrababu Naidu for ironing out a solution to the escalating row of Nagarjuna Sagar Project waters in the presence of Governor ESL Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan, Union Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu today asked them to find lasting solutions to controversies through a dialogue and issues thereof as the people are expecting development and growth.
Talking to mediapersons at a hotel here, the Union minister criticized the previous UPA government for failing to sort out the bifurcation issue in an amicable manner. AICC leader Digvijay Singh has no right to demand speedy implementation of recommendations made by AP Bifurcation Act, he said. Though the Centre is considering special category status to Andhra Pradesh, there are some typical issues and problems need to be addressed first, besides giving ample support to Telangana State to resolve all its issues. Indeed, we are happy and see similar debate to find solution to power, water and other common issues in the two States, he said.
In Delhi, “I asked both KCR and Naidu to resolve the issues amicably by conducting frequent meetings that would cater to the aspirations of the people. We are committed to offer the best possible support and cooperation to reach out to the aspirations of two Telugu States and help both the governments”, he said. “Our objective is to address the needs of the people and live up to their expectations”, he added.
