Venkaiah pats KCR, hopes AP follow suit on Telugu subject

Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu today appreciated Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for making Telugu a compulsory subject in schools and colleges.

In a twitter message today, Venkaiah Naidu said the Telangana Government has taken a decision to make Telugu a compulsory subject from class I to XII. “I welcome the decision of the Telangana Government to make Telugu a compulsory subject from First to 12th standards”, he tweeted. The Vice President, who has been vouching for giving importance to mother tongue at several occasions, has appealed to other States to follow suit. “I expect Andhra Pradesh government would also soon take a similar decision in this regard”, he hoped. “Every State should make its mother tongue compulsory subject in the schools and colleges”, he added.
