Vijayawada, March 22: Senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu yesterday advised the Andhra Pradesh Government to accept the Opposition demand for a JLC probe into the allotment of lands for both industries and individuals by the Congress Government since 2004.
The Government should clarify the doubts expressed by the legislators as well as the public on the land deals, the former Union Minister said.
With the state government rejecting the Opposition demand for a JLC probe, the Assembly proceedings have been paralysed since the last four days.
To avoid immoral practices, Naidu also called for an open ballot system to elect Members of the Legislative Councils.
Talking to reporters here, he said people’s representatives are elected under the banner of political parties and such persons should obey the instructions issued by their party at the time of MLC elections.
