Union Minister for Urban Development on Monday held a meeting with Choudhary Birendra Singh, Union Minister for Rural Development and officials from RD Ministry regarding issues pending with Rural Development Ministry pertaining to Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Naidu told RD Minister that a few days back in a meeting of MPs’ from Karnataka, Siddaramaiah, Chief Minister of Karnataka, had requested to follow up pending releases to Karnataka from Central Government. Further, he has received similar requests from AP and Telangana also.
The Chief Minister requested the RD Minister to release the second Tranche of MGNREGA funds to these 3 states as this is the working season in Southern States and timely release of funds will benefit the ongoing programmes.
Choudhary Birendra Singh assured Naidu that releases pertaining to 2nd tranche of MGNREGA will be done within a week, and releases regarding 13th Finance Commission Grants, Rural Drinking Water Supply programme etc., will also be expedited.
