Wearing pink shawls as per Vedic norms, Union Ministers M Venkaiah Naidu and Bandaru Dattatreya today visited Erravalli farm house of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhara Rao and participated in the ongoing Ayutha Maha Chandi Yagam on second day.
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, his wife Shobha, Irrigation Minister Harish Rao, priests and Veda pundits cordially invited the Union ministers to Yaga Shala with Purnakumbham. Venkaiah Naidu and Dattatreya worshipped the goddess Chandi and put puja material in the homam pit along with the Chief Minister. Endowments Minister A. Indrakaran Reddy and others were present during the Maha Yagam.
Earlier, KCR and Harish Rao welcomed Supreme Court Justice Jasthi Chalameshwar at the Yagashala. Telangana Director General of Police Anurag Sharma was also present at the event. The entire Yagashala was seen draped in pink as Ritviks worn pink shawls while performing pujas and chanting Veda mantras.
The Erravalli farm house area adorns a look of Brahmotsavalu and meditational congregation as a large number of people thronged the site. Also the site of Yagam seen reverberating with Vedic hymns and chanting of mantras and women performed “kumkuma” puja to appease the Goddess Chandi. The farm house festooned to the occasion with green pandals covering homa kundas. Rithviks conducted a myriad variety of yagams, japas and mangalaharathis on the occasion. (NSS)
