Venka Reddy sent to jail till Aug 6 in call data leakage case

A criminal court at Nampally on Thursday remanded K Venka Reddy, who was arrested in the case of call data record leakage of CBI Joint Director V V Lakshminarayana, to judicial custody till August 6.

Venka Reddy was swent to judicial remand after the CID sleuths produced him before the court after his arrest in Maharashtra. He was later shifted to the Cherlapally Central Jail. Earlier, the CID officials sought five days custody of Venka Reddy.

CID Additional Director General S V Ramana Murthy said that Venka Reddy, vice-president of Ind-Bharat Agencies, Maharashtra, has confessed to having committed the crime at the instance of accused in the call data record leakage. (INN)

Reacting on the demands for resignation Secondary Education Minister K Parthasarathi who has been convicted by the Special Court for Economic Offences in a FERA case, Shailajanath said that there was no need to tender resignation by the minister.

Stating that there no signs of contemplation to bifurcate the State in center the Minister made it clear that no discussions were going on in New Delhi pertaining to Telangana issue. (INN)
