Hyderabad, January 20: There is a long of people who utilise the Islamic style of living but if their are a few persons who keep Muslim names and present a false picture of Islam.
These people, in the desire to worship their personal interests defame Islam and the Muslims. Addressing a function at Salar Jung Museum, on International Islamic Art and Culture, the Vice Chancellor of Maulana Azad National Urdu University had given a proof of his mental reservation about veil and Islamic teachings and said that veil is not compatible with Islamic teachings. In this connection, giving the reference of a state and of casting the impression of Vice Chancellorship on his spirit and heart and with a desire to make himself a blue-eyed boy in the eyes of the Govt. he said that a religious leader of Assam has told that the Muslim lechers in Assam do not wear a veil. Burqa is not in vogue here.
So to say that he is saying that ‘Parda’ (covering the body and face of a woman) is not the Islamic Culture of Muslim ladies. He raised the question of arresting Muslim women in Burqa saying that isn’t Burqa an obstacle in the progress of a Muslim woman? He declared that Islam is a combination of faith and culture and told that the Burqa culture is not in Islam. The audience, instead of taking a serious note of various expressions of the Vice Chancellor, suppressed the matter. The fact was that his wife was a non-Muslim.
He bears a Muslim name but his heart and mind are devoid of making distinction and realising the importance of Islamic teachings and the importance of Burqa. He favours un-Islamic thoughts and anti-Muslim points of view because he has a greed for higher positions. He is eyeing to become the vice chancellor of another higher central University.
