The State Government is making all arrangements for smooth and peaceful conduct of Ganesh Nimajjan on September 27 in coordination with Bhaghanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi and people’s participation.
This was stated by Sunil Sharma, Principal Secretary of Transport department, after holding a high-level review meeting attended by BJP leader Baddam Bal Reddy and Samithi leaders at Secretariat here. Sunil Sharma said 5,800 heavy vehicles are kept ready to be dispatched from September 25 night. “We have issued notices to owners of 9,500 heavy vehicles and sought their cooperation.
The 11-day Ganesh festival, which began on September 17, will culminate on September 27 with immersion of idols of Lord Ganesh, he said, adding that efforts were on to provide heavy vehicles to navigate the idols to respective destinations, he said. Sunil Sharma also appealed to young organizers to stop these vehicles on highways and help them move to the respective Ganesh Pandals. Shapur, Shadnagar and Bhongir were also identified for pooling of heavy vehicles in addition to the existing ones, he said, adding that 60 Motor Vehicle inspectors and 60 police personnel would be dispatched with these heavy vehicles.
The offices identified as vehicle issuing centers include Trimulgherry, Medchal, Chandrayangutta, Kukatpally, Ibrahimpatnam, Autonagar, Patancheru, Necklace Road. A help desk on Tank Bund will give information about these heavy vehicles. He urged the organizers of Ganesh pandals to cooperate for smooth and speedy conduct of the Nimajjanam festivities. (NSS)
