Vehicles burning: Police forms special team to nab culprits

The incessant setting afire of two wheelers by the miscreants since January in the communally sensitive Madannapet and its adjoining area has left the residents terrorized as the police fail to track the culprits. Till date the number of vehicles that were set ablaze has reached to twelve.

Today morning yet again a two-wheeler was set ablaze by the miscreants in the Darabjung Colony under Madannapet police station limits. Mohammed Qamar has parked his two-wheeler CT-100 bearing No. AP11G-4074 bike near his house, unknown persons set ablaze his bike early in the morning. The Police have registered a case under section 435 IPC (Mischief by fire or explosives). In the earlier occasions eleven vehicles have been set ablaze by the miscreants.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police South Zone has informed that a special team has been formed under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner of Police Santoshnagar S.Sai Krishna, Inspector KVP Raju and other staff. “ We have fanned out a special team t track the culprits, till date there are no specific clues available in this regard.” DCP Manish Kumar Sinha told.

According to the sources during the preliminary investigation the police have found that there is only a two members motorcycle borne team which carrying out the mischief, it is also suspected that the culprits might have a criminal background in the past. “ We are living in a state of fear, despite so many vehicles have been burnt there is no police seen patrolling in our area” Abdul Aziz a local resident said.
