Vegetable prices surge at Raitu Bazaar during Ramadan

Most of the Muslims purchase vegetables and fruits from Raitu Bazaar during Ramadan. Taking advantage of this farmers have raised the prices of daily needs. The government rate of Beans is Rs. 43 per kg while the farmers are selling it at the rate of Rs. 60 per kg. Thus consumers are robbed off by raising the prices of other vegetables and fruits too.

Consumers of Raitu bazaar complained that the farmers are not selling the vegetables on the rates fixed by the government. Apart from that consumers also complained that the farmers have old and inaccurate scales. Hence they are getting very less vegetables and are suffering heavy loss. The farmers give some vegetables to Raitu Bazaar staff as bribe so that they do not take action against the former on being complained by the public.
