Hyderabad: “Country got independence only due to the great sacrifices by the freedom fighters. They wanted freedom from the clutches of imperialist forces to be able to govern our own mother land. However, freedom bestows a huge responsibility too. As an institution of higher learning, it is our responsibility to prepare able students. Dr. Mohammad Aslam Parvaiz, Vice-Chancellor, Maulana Azad National Urdu University expressed these views while delivering Independence Day message, after unfurling the flag. A cultural programme with patriotic touch was also presented.
“Freedom Run” was also organized in the morning 8:30 a.m. from Health Centre to Main Gate Complex by NSS Cell as a part of Azadi 70-Yad Karo Qurbani (Freedom Fortnight). Dr. Shakeel Ahmed, Registrar was also present. Scores of students participated.
