The revolutionary poet and activist, Mr. Varavara Rao alleged that the Andhra rulers used Hyderabad as the hen which gives golden egg. Right from Chandrababu Naidu to Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy, all the Chief Ministers have ruined more than one hundred rural areas. He told that the late Nizam VII had 50 lakh acres of land around Hyderabad. There were a few jagirs also. After the formation of AP State, all these lands were converted into Govt. properties. There are no details of these lands.
Mr. Varavara Rao told that Charminar and Musi River were the marks of identification of the city of Hyderabad. Attempts are now being made to alter these identification marks.
He told that it is the most tragic incident that in the vicinity of Charminar Police Station a shed was constructed and its roof was erected. He pointed out that in order to maintain the identity of Charminar, there is a ban on constructing any structure near it.
Despite this restriction, it is very strange that police department is violating it. He also blamed the political parties for distorting the composite culture of Hyderabad. He told that some political parties are trying to spread hatred among various people in the name of religion only to fulfill their vested interests.
He also expressed his anxiety over the unemployment of the Muslim youths of the old city of Hyderabad. He mentioned that wherever any incident takes place, Muslim youths are targeted. The investigating agencies implicate the Muslim youths in order to finish their job.
