Varanasi : BJP wins in voting machine and losses in Ballot voting

Varanasi: In the recently declared UP civic poll results, the BJP had sweeped the polls winning 14 out of 16 Municipal Corporations. But civic polls are not only about Municipal corporations but also Nagar panchayats and Municipalities where the BJP’s performance was well below and far from the outcome of Municipal Corporation results.

The Suspicions of opposition parties regarding the malfunctioning of EVM’s has been strengthened with BJP suffering heavy losses in  rural and semi urban seats where elections were conducted via ballot papers.

Ayodhya Municipal Corporation in which elections were conducted through EVM  has been won by BJP, whereas in the election results of seven districts adjoining Ayodhya the BJP suffered heavy losses.

In the rural and semi-urban areas of Faizabad, Ambedkar Nagar, Basti, Gonda, Balrampur,  Bahraich and Sultanpur districts of eastern Uttar Pradesh, there are total 33 seats. Out of these 33 seats, the BJP has won just 6 seats.

However, the SP managed to win 12 seats, BSP managed to win 5 seats, Congress 3 seats, while independents won 7 seats.

The elections in these districts was conducted through Ballot.

5 Women elected from Ambedkar Nagar district

In Ambedkar Nagar district, there are total 5 seats and interestingly all the seats are won by women.

BJP did not win single seat in Faizabad, Bahraich and Balrampur districts

The BJP failed to win even a single seat in Faizabad, Bahraich and Balrampur. Whereas, it managed to win one seat each in Basti and Ambedkar Nagar.

In Sultanpur and Gonda, it won two seats in each district.

Muslims win in all 8 seats in Balrampur and Bahraich districts

The winning candidates in the 8 seats of these two districts belong to the Muslim community; Out of these 8 seats, 5 are won by Women.

 

 

The Opposition parties managed to win against BJP with paper ballots. This has once again raised the debate regarding the argument that EVM’s are foolproof.
