Vanitha datla elected CII Chairperson

Ms. Vanitha Datla, Executive Director & CFO, Elico Ltd. is elected as the new Chairperson of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Telangana for the period 2015-2016. J V Nrupender Rao, Chairman, Pennar Group will be the Vice Chairman. The New office bearers are elected by the CII Telangana State Council here today.

Ms. Vanitha Datla is currently Executive Director & CFO at ELICO Ltd. a pioneer in the Analytical Instruments Industry Founded in 1960, the company.

Ms. Vanitha Datla has a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts from St. Francis College for Women majoring in Economics and Public Administration. After a 5-year stay in America, she then returned to India and pursued the MBA program from the ICFAI Business School. She received her ‘CFA’ Charter (Chartered Financial Analyst) and PGDBA degree, standing second in her graduating class and was awarded a silver medal.

She has worked with Raasi Finance and Investment Ltd., as Executive Director and later as Managing Director for a period of 5 years. She joined Anjani Portland Cement Ltd., another non operating unit that was taken over by her family and associates as a Whole time Director and was part of the driving team that achieved a commendable turnaround.

Earlier, in CII, Ms. Datla acted as the Chairperson for CII Telangana’s Interim Council since September 2014. She also played a very active role as Chairperson for IWN – Hyderabad Chapter prior to becoming Vice Chairperson for the Erstwhile Andhra Pradesh.

J V Nrupender Rao is the Promoter and Chairman of Rs. 1400 Crore Pennar Group and has rich and diverse experience in various organisations such as National Cash Register, USA, Union Carbide India, Nagarjuna Group and the Pennar Group. He has Master’s Degree from Purdue University in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research and an engineering graduate in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur. He was appointed Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) for two years and was a member of the Planning Board of Andhra Pradesh. He was the National President of the Indo- American Chamber of Commerce and earlier the President of the Hyderabad Management Association.

Prior to being elected as the Vice Chairman, Mr. Rao was the acting Vice Chairman for CII Telangana’s Interim Council. (NSS)
