Hyderabad, April 13: The Nandamuri Harikrishna group in the Telugu Desam Party, which is ranged against party president N Chandrababu Naidu, appears to have decided to wait for some time before doing anything dramatic.
Accordingly, sources said, his supporter and Vijayawada party president Vallabhaneni Vamsi walked up to party president N Chandrababu Naidu today and tendered an apology for making an issue out of an incident in Krishna district recently during Harikrishna’s visit.
Vamsi, who has a running feud with party Krishna district president D Umamaheswara Rao, accused him of showing disrepect to Harikrishna. Pained over the accusation, Umamaheswara Rao, a strong supporter of Chandrababu Naidu, resigned to his post.
With Chandrababu Naidu rejecting the resignation of Umamahewara Rao, Vamsi quit his position yesterday. Another important leader in Krishna district, Gudivada MLA Kodali Nani, joined Vamsi in the fight against Umamaheswara Rao. But Nani did not resign.
Angered over Vamsi making an issue out of a ‘non-issue’, Chandrababu Naidu pulled him up today and told him to stop this resignation drama forthwith. He reportedly told him to either work as a disciplined party worker or choose his own course.
