Valentine’s Day: Here’s what cleric says

Hyderabad: Qari Mohammed Abdul Qayyum Nomani, Imam of Jamia Masjid, Siddiamber Bazar told that in today’s world, the Muslim youths are going astray from the path of the Quran. It is due to the ignorance of Quranic knowledge.

Islamic culture teaches Muslims modesty and humility. It prevents from shameless deeds but Satan always makes an attempt to divert the attention of the Muslims from the right path.

He further told that Valentine’s Day is a western culture which is casting its effects on the Islamic Culture also.

Maulana Nomani explained that Islam has provided the institution of marriage to lead a noble life. It gives pleasure and tranquillity. Islam also prevents the contacts of Muslim boys and girls in order to prevent sinful activities.

Islam has given the opportunity to express love and affection in a cultured way.

He expressed the need for the parents to prevent their sons and daughters from celebrating Valentine’s Day.
