On completion of Higher Defence Management Course and Master of Management Studies (MMS), a valedictory ceremony was held at the College of Defence Management here on Tuesday. 150 officers including 96 Army Officers, 28 Air Force 18 Navy officers, one each from Naval Stores, Armed Forces Medical Service (AFMS) and 6 Armed Forces Officers from foreign countries– Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Myanmar and Sri Lanka have attended the year long course for which MMS degrees were awarded from Osmania University.
Former Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal (Retired) NAK Browne presided over the valedictory ceremony and gave away degree certificates and awards to the participants. Captain Rahul Shankar was adjudged the best meritorious student of the course. The course aimed at converting middle level officers into strategic thinkers for effective and efficient management of resources of the Armed Forces during war and peace. Apart from course curriculum, a numbers of eminent guest speakers from both military civil back grounds and experts in their respective fields have delivered talks for the benefit of the course participants.
While congratulating the participants on completion of the course, Air Vice Marshal Rajeev Sachdeva, Commandant College of Defence Management has placed on record to the Vice Chancellor and the faculty of Business Management of Osmania University for their invaluable support in conducting the course. On the occasion, Registrar, Dy. Registrar and other senior faculty members of Osmania University were present.(NSS)
