Bharatiya Janata Party senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu today said that the ideals of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee should be emulated by the present day politicians. He was participating in a program organized to celebrate Vajpayee’s 89th birthday celebrations.
Speaking on the occasion, Venkaiah said that Vajpayee is noted for maintaining cordial relations with neighboring countries, besides putting a continuous tab on price rise and inflation. The then NDA Government led by Vajpayee was able to form three new states in a peaceful manner 13 years ago, besides teaching a fitting lesson to US with regard to nuclear capability, he said. He also maintained that Vajpayee implemented many schemes for the welfare of all sections of society. Venkaiah also opined that the nation now needs governance without any disparity. It is known that the former prime minister is bed-ridden for quite some time and staying in the official house in Delhi.
On the occasion, BJP state unit President G Kishen Reddy distributed fruits among the patients at Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital in the city. He said that Vajpayee is a noted Prime Minister of the nation. (NSS)
