State Deputy Chief Minister and Higher Education Minister C Damodar Raja Narasimha today stated in the Legislative Council that 22 Universities were not having full fledged Eexecutive Councils in the state. He told members that the High Court has also directed that all the Executive Councils be constituted within a stipulated time.
The Government had constituted a Collegium (committee ) of Academicians to identify suitable persons to be nominated as Executive Counicl Members in the Universities, he said. The Committee has submitted its recommendations in respect of 18 universities and the same are under consideration and the recommendation for the remaining four universities are still awaited, he informed.
