Colombo, July 18: Vaas included in the squad or third TestThe left arm fast bowler Chaminda Vaas has been included in the Sri Lankan squad for the third and final Test match against Pakistan, which will be played on Monday in Colombo.

Vass, who had played his last test in February, will replace the off-spinner Suraj Randiv in 16-memeber Sri Lankan squad.

Earlier this year, Sri Lanka’s chief selector Ashantha de Mel has said that Vass had retired from the test cricket, while Vass denied any such report saying that he would continue to play till 2011 World Cup.

Vaas, the 35 year old veteran, was dropped from the Sri Lanka Twenty20 team although he continued to be a part of Sri Lankan team for test matches. Vaas had played 110 test matches in which he has taken 354 wickets.

Vass played last test match against Pakistan in Karachi, but he was dropped for the next test match at Lahore, which was left in between after terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team.

Meanwhile, the spinning maestro Muttiah Muralitharan has also been ruled out from the third test match as he was unable to recover from the injury.
