Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has appointed Veeramalla Prakash Rao, one of the founders of the Telangana Statehood movement, as Director and Chairman of State Water Resources Development Corporation. Prakash will be in the post for a period of three years. The CM said, Prakash, from Mulugu Venkatapur in Warangal district has played an active role in the Telangana movement from its initial days. The CM said V Prakash Rao worked hard to create awareness among the people on the injustices being meted out to the Telangana in water and irrigation. Since Sri Prakash has an expertise in the irrigation sector, the responsibility of the Water Resources Development Corporation is given to him. “Prakash who is closely associated with me has extended excellent cooperation during the Telangana movement,” the CM said. The CM also congratulated V Prakash Rao and wished him success in his new responsibility. (NSS)
