Hyderabad: Ms. Uzma Shakir has been appointed General Secretary of Telangana Congress Committee. She is a Kashmiri girl and the daughter-in-law of Hyderabad. She is the first Muslim woman to be nominated as General Secretary of the Congress Committee. She has been actively participating in the activities of Congress party for the past 6 years. She hails from a political family. He grandfather, Gulam Ahmed was one of the political advisers of Shaik Mohammed Abdullah, the then Prime Minister of Kashmir. Earlier, she also participated in social activities in New Delhi.
She thanked Ms. Sonia Gandhi, Mr. Digvijay Singh and Captain Uttam Kumar Reddy for her nomination. She promised that she would fulfill the aspirations of Congress party. She slammed KCR that he did not fulfill his election promise of providing 12% reservation to Muslims.
