New Delhi, September 14: Even as there have been multiple reports of people from China entering India in states touching the border, the Uttarakhand government has now sought better protection along the international border following some recent incidents of intrusion.
The people living in the bordering areas have been worried as the intruders have been breaching the line of control in newer places both in uniform and in civilian dress.
In Uttarakhand, shepherds rearing their cattle spotted many strangers in the last few months. Such strangers neither understand their language nor make their intentions clear.
The state government on its part has equally been worried. It has demanded more protection. Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal insisted on having a proper security cover along the border matching that of the coastal states.
“Just as the coastal areas of the country have full-fledged security, similar security arrangements should be made for security in hilly areas of the country,” he said.
On its part, the Chinese government has only been facilitating such intrusions. China has built new roads across the border that made such intrusions easier.
