Uttarakhand: Harish Rawat wins floor test; Centre to revoke President’s rule

Uttarakhand: Attorney General has told Supreme Court on Wednesday that sacked Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat has proved majority in the assembly.

Rawat gets 33 votes out of 61 in floor test, says SC while BJP bagged 28 votes.

Harish Rawat will assume office as CM after the President’s rule is revoked, said SC.

Senior advocate Kapil Sibal, appearing for Harish Rawat, welcomed the decision.

Yesterday the SC monitored floor test was conducted in the assembly excluding nine disqualified MLAs. The results were sent to the SC in a sealed cover.

However, Rawat was confident of his victory.

Details are awaited.
