Uttarakhand, October 19: Former Uttarakhand Chief Secretary N S Napalchyal on Tuesday took oath as the new Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) of the state.
Napalchayal was administered oath of office by Uttarakhand Governor Margaret Alva at a function held at Rajbhavan in Dehradun.
Napalchyal has succeeded Dr R S Tolia, the first CIC of Uttarakhand whose five-year-tenure ended on October 17.
During the brief function, attended by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank, his cabinet colleagues and Leader of the opposition Harak Singh Rawat among others, Alva also administered oath of office to journalist Prabhat Dabral and Supreme Court Advocate Anil Sharma as the Information Commissioners.
