UP: Four accused in Jewar-Bulandshir gang rape arrested by Police

Noida: While Noida Police had been hunting for the four accused in the Jewar Gang Rape for the past two months, the perpetrators, who were absconding, were serving jail time in Luksar Jail in Greater Noida for conspiring to carry out a robbery.

The suspects were absconding since the committed crime on May 25 at Jewar, where the men killed a man and gang raped four women. The Noida Police have now nabbed the suspects on Sunday after two months of long hunt across three states.

Two weeks after the gruesome murder and the gang-rape, the culprits were jailed for planning to commit a robbery on June 13 in nearby areas by SHO of Sector 58 Police Station and were taken into custody and sent to Luksar Jail.

The four suspects Raju (30), Rakesh (25), Deepak (20), and Monu, were arrested by Dilip Singh Bisht, SHO of Sector 58 Police Station on June 13 along with three others from Sector C while the group was planning a robbery in the nearby areas and were booked under sections 399 and 402 of IPC and also under Arms act. Two country-made guns, some live cartridges, two iron rods were also seized from the gang by the Police.

The suspects were roaming freely since their release from the Jail on June 28 until their recent arrests along with an associate by the Noida Police on Sunday.

The SHO later filed a FIR as a complainant in the case for their arrests stating he was informed about the planned robbery by an informant.

Following the filed FIR, the seven accused were produced in the court and were taken into judicial custody.

Meanwhile, the Noida Police was hunting for the suspects for the past two months across three states UP, Haryana and Rajasthan Police, forming several operation teams including special operations group, surveillance cell, anti-extortion cell, crime branch, STF and teams from Aligarh and Bulandshahr to trace the accused.
