Five persons were killed on Sunday and 11 others injured after the vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell into a ditch in Fatehganj Dakshini area here, police said.
The accident took place this morning after the driver of the passenger jeep lost control causing the vehicle to plunge into a ditch. Driver, Rakesh (25) and passenger Rambedi (34) were killed on the spot while Niranjan (30), Bhagwat Sharan (36) and Vikas (12) died during treatment, police said.
The bodies were sent for postmortem while the injured were rushed to a government hospital where their condition is said to be stable, they added.
