Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has strongly condemned Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh for denying appointment to meet an all-party delegation on the issue of Miyapur land scam.
The all-party delegation, led by AICC General Secretary Digvijaya Singh, was planning to meet Rajnath Singh on Wednesday to submit a representation seeking CBI enquiry into the Miyapur land scam. But, according to Uttam Kumar Reddy, the Union Home Minister denied appointment citing ill-health. He said even the Union Home Secretary was not available. “Denial of appointment has exposed the secret understanding between the BJP and TRS,” he alleged while adding that the Central Government wants to help TRS Government in hushing up the multi-crore land scam.
Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the BJP Government at the Centre was hesitating to take action against TRS Government as it was supporting NDA’s candidate Ramnath Kovind in the Presidential elections. He said both BJP and TRS were hand-in-glove in encouraging corruption and irregularities in Telangana State.
Meanwhile, in the memorandum submitted in the office of Union Home Ministry, the opposition parties demanded CBI probe into the land scam. They also alleged that TRS Secretary General Keshava Rao was also involved in illegal purchase of 50 Acres of land in Ibrahimpatnam. Referring to a statement made by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao after the scam came to light, they said KCR tried to give clean chit to all scamsters by saying that not a single inch of government land has been lost. They urged that the Centre order a CBI probe into the land scam to punish the guilty. (INN)
