Uttam showers promises on Ex-servicemen

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has said the Congress party if voted to power in the next elections, would take all measures for the welfare of ex-servicemen.

Addressing the media along with TPCC Manifesto Committee chairman Damodar Rajanarasimha after receiving a representation from Telangana Ex-Servicemen Federation at Gandhi Bhavan on Saturday, Uttam Kumar Reddy said if the Congress elected to power it would resolve all the pending issues of ex-services. Though the Centre issued several guidelines to the State governments on the welfare of ex-servicemen, the TRS government failed to implement them.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said ex-servicemen were eligible to get a housing plot and five acres of cultivable land. But the TRS government neither allotted a plot nor land to ex-servicemen during the last four-and-a-half years. He said the ex-servicemen would be given Rs 5 lakh grant for construction of their houses and another Rs 5 lakh would be arranged as bank loan whose interest burden would be borne by the State Government.

Speaking on the occasion, Telangana Ex-servicemen Federation chairman Karunakar Reddy thanked the Congress party for accepting all their demands. He appealed to all ex-servicemen in Telangana State to support the Congress party in next Assembly elections.
