Uttam reviews arrangements for Rahul Gandhi’s tour on Oct 20

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the public meetings to be addressed by Congress president Rahul Gandhi in Bhainsa and Kamareddy on October 20 would be a grand success.
Addressing meetings of party workers and leaders in Bhainsa and Kamareddy on Monday, Uttam Kumar Reddy directed the party cadre to ensure participation of all sections of the society in the meetings to be addressed by Rahul Gandhi.

He said that the Congress president, during his visit on October 20, would not only expose the failures of TRS and BJP Governments, but he would also unveil the Congress party’s plan to address the woes of different segments. He reiterated that the next elections were a fight between ‘KCR Family Vs People of Telangana’ and Congress party would play its role in restoring democracy in the State.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said that it was the visit of Rahul Gandhi in August this year which forced Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao to dissolve the Assembly and go for early elections. “The tremendous public response to Rahul Gandhi Ji’s tour to Hyderabad brought shivers among TRS leaders, especially KCR. For the same reason, KCR held a press conference late evening to target the Congress president. Later, KCR held a public meeting ‘Pragati Nivedika Sabha’ by spending over Rs. 300 crore only to counter the impact of Rahul Gandhi’s visit. However, he failed in his attempt with not even 3 lakh people attending the meeting,” he said.

The TPCC Chief also slammed KCR for advancing the Assembly elections. “People had given a mandate to TRS to rule for five years. However, by dissolving the Assembly nine months ahead of its schedule, KCR not only broke the people’s trust, but made a confession that TRS was incapable of ruling the State,” he said while adding that people of Telangana have no reason to trust KCR again.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said Rahul Gandhi’s tour on October 20 would further strengthen the Congerss party in Telangana. He said each and every Congress worker should work hard to ensure that large number of people attend Rahul Gandhi’s public meetings and listen to his message. He said the entire party cadre must work hard for the next 52 days (till December 7) to ensure party’s victory in next elections.

Earlier, accompanied with ex-CLP leader K. Jana Reddy, TPCC Working President Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, AICC Secretaries N.S. Bose Raju, Srinivasan Krishnan, Adilabad district incharge Sabitha Indira Reddy and other leaders, the TPCC chief went to Bhainsa in a helicopter from Begumpet Airport. After visiting the proposed venue for public meeting, the Congress leaders then proceeded to Kamareddy in the helicopter.

At Kamareddy, the Congress leaders were joined by AICC Telangana Incharge R.C. Khuntia, AICC Secretary Madhu Yashki Goud, Leader of Opposition in Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir and other leaders and they inspected the Arts College Grounds where Rahul Gandhi’s meeting is proposed to be held.

The TPCC Chief informed that Rahul Gandhi would reach Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad at 10.30 am on October 20. From airport, Rahul Gandhi will proceed to Charminar to participate in the commemoration day celebrations of Rajiv Gandhi Sabhavna Yatra. He will host the Congress party’s flag at Charminar, confer Sadbhavana Award to former Governor Dr. K. Rosaiah and address the meeting. He will then return to RGIA to board a helicopter for Bhainsa and then to Kamareddy to address the public meetings
