Hyderabad: TPCC President N. Uttam Kumar Reddy met with party president Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi. AICC Telangana in-charge RC Kuntia also took part in the meeting.
The discussions at the meeting revolved around the recent defeat of the party in the assembly elections. Reddy submitted a report on the reasons that led to the defeat of the party in the elections. The leaders have also discussed about the strategy to be adopted for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Rahul Gandhi has asked the TPCC president to appoint DCC presidents to all 33 districts of the state. He also asked Reddy to keep all the party candidates, who have contested as MLAs from all the constituencies of the state as in-charges of the party till the completion of the upcoming Panchayat elections.
Revealing the details of their meeting with media persons later, both Kuntia and Uttam have said that they had been asked by Rahul Gandhi to fill up all organisational party posts by January 10, 2019. They said that they would also reduce the size of Pradesh election committee and keep it as a 15 member committee.
