Housing Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Tuesday assured that he would plug all the loopholes in his department to make Andhra Pradesh a model State in the implementation of housing schemes.
Talking to reporters after meeting PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana at Gandhi Bhavan, Uttam Kumar said that the housing schemes could be implemented in a result-oriented manner by plugging the loopholes. He said the schemes must be target-based and should be completed within the stipulated deadlines.
While admitting that the benefits of some schemes were not reaching several deserving beneficiaries, he said he would try to streamline the functioning of the ministry assigned to him. He said he would strive hard to make Andhra Pradesh a model State in the implementation of housing scheme.
Speaking about Telangana, Uttam Kumar said that the Congress leaders have already conveyed their feelings to the High Command and were expecting a favourable decision. He said he would continue to work for the formation of separate State.
He thanked Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and the PCC president for his induction into the State cabinet. (INN)
