Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has demanded probe through Crime Investigation Department (CID) into the alleged misappropriation of funds in the Telangana SC, ST Study Cirle.
Accompanied with ex-MPs V. Hanumantha Rao and Ponnam Prabhakar and other leaders, Uttam Kumar Reddy visited the dharna camp organised by the student in Study Circle premises in Banjara Hills on Tuesday. Speaking to media persons later, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Director of Study Circle is being accused of misappropriating funds of over Rs. 7 crore. He said that the Study Circle imparts training to students of Scheduled Castes and Scheculed Communities for All India Services exams and therefore, the State Government should take a serious note of allegations being levelled by the students.
Uttam Kumar Reddy demanded stern action against those who misappropriated the funds of Study Circle and also asked the government to take steps to recover the amount. He said that the Congress party would raise the issue in next session of Legislative Assembly. He also demanded that the government provide more facilities to the students of Study Circle.(NSS)
