Uttam confident of LS elections win for Cong

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy expressed confidence that the Congress party would give an impressive performance by winning almost all seats in Telangana in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Addressing party leaders from Chevella, Malkajgiri, Hyderabad, Secunderabad and Medak Lok Sabha constituencies in separate meetings on the third and last day of brainstorming on Sunday, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Congress cadre was fully geared up to face the Lok Sabha elections. “During the last three days, we had a serious introspection on the factors that led to party’s defeat in last Assembly elections. Congress leaders from all 17 Lok Sabha constituencies in Telangana came up with many constructive, valuable and practical suggestions and they would be incorporated in the party’s final strategy for elections. The brainstorming sessions have proved that the entire Congress cadre was fully charged and rejuvenated to face and win the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections,” he said.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the narrative for Lok Sabha elections would be different from what it was in Assembly elections. “Voting for Parliament is not about KCR or TRS. This will be a vote to elect next Prime Minister of India and people would certainly prefer Congress president Rahul Gandhi over BJP’s Narender Modi. “India needs a visionary leader like Rahul Gandhi and not a person like Modi who cheated the nation with his lies and deception. Except for making tall promises and staking false claims, BJP Govt did nothing during the last five years. Therefore, Rahul Gandhi is the obvious choice of people as the next Prime Minister,” he said.

Uttam Kumar Reddy directed the party cadre of Hyderabad and Secunderabad constituencies to strengthen the organisation and network. He said that Secunderabad has been a traditional Congress seat since beginning. Except for Nampally assembly segment, Congress was strong in all other constituencies falling under Secunderabad LS seat. But this gap too has been bridged in the last Assembly elections and now Congress is strong in Nampally too. Therefore, he said Secunderabad would be in the list of seats destined to be won by the Congress.

AICC Telangana Incharge R.C. Khuntia directed the leaders to focus on strengthening the organisation at all levels. He said appointments up to booth level should be completed at the earliest. CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikarmarka and other senior leaders also addressed the brainstorming session which concluded today.
