Uttam asks party cadre to strive for Cong win in 2019

TPCC Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy today called upon the Congress cadre to strive to bring back the Congress to power in the State and the Centre.

The Congress leaders—Uttam Kumar Reddy, Ponnala Laxmaiah, Shabbir Ali, Sabitha Indra Reddy, Gudur Narayana Reddy, Suresh Reddy, Mallu Ravi, Anjan Kumar YAdav, Anil Kumar Yadav, Indira Shoba and others participated in the 27th death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in the Gandhi Bhavan here on Monday. They paid floral tributes to Rajiv Gandhi’s portrait.

Speaking on the occasion, Uttam Kumar Reddy said Rajiv Gandhi became MP at very young age. The Gandhi family sacrificed their lives for the sake of nation. He accused the present rulers of trying to erase their history. MLC Mohammed Ali Shabbir said Rajiv Gandhi brought about several changes in the nation. Shabbir said Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP Chief Amith Shaw were destroying democratic values in the country.

Senior leader V Hanumantha Rao exhorted party leaders to strive for the victory of the party. He said AICC Chief Rahul Gandhi would decide the Chief Ministerial candidate after the victory of the party.

The Youth Congress leaders conducted blood donation camp on the occasion in the Gandhi Bhavan. Earlier, the Congress leaders, including Uttam Kumar Reddy, Shabbir Ali, Anjan Kumar Yadav, Ponnala Laxmaiah, Danam Nagender and several others paid floral tributes to the statue of Rajiv Gandhi at Punjagutta. On the occasion, they party leaders organized all religions’ prayers and later took pledge. (NSS)
