LUCKNOW: Defeat of BJP in the recently concluded Kairana Lok Sabha and Noorpur assembly bypolls in Uttar Pradesh has invited criticism from its own lawmakers.
BJP MLA Shyam Prakash from the Hardoi district attacks Yogi Adityanath and his government for failing to control corruption which led party loss in the bypolls. “Officers are corrupt. Farmers aren’t happy with the government. There are several reasons behind BJP’s loss,” Shyam Prakash told ANI.
In a satirical poem written on Facebook, which has been roughly translated, the BJP lawmaker said:

► मोदी नाम से पा गए राज। कर न सके जनता मन काज।।
With the help of Modi wave, you captured power, but couldn’t capture people’s heart
Because your reins are in the hands of Sangh, even your chief minister becomes helpless
Officers are corrupt, therefore, public and legislators are frustrated
The government has gone off-track and the governance has failed
Those who are clever can take the hint (sic)
On Thursday, BJP candidate Mriganka Singh lost the Kairana Lok Sabha seat to Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) candidate Tabassum Hasan and the opposition alliance. The saffron party also lost the Noorpur Assembly constituency to the Samajwadi Party.
