Hyderabad, August 17: Some people use other people’s disability as the means of earning money. Using disabled children, elders and women for begging has become a modern technique of begging. Here is an example for that.
A young girl was seen dragging a 55 year old woman on a tri-cycle. They raise alms by begging from houses and shops. The girl goes for begging bare footed while the old woman is disabled with one leg. The gang, chewing gutkha, goes on begging on roads and streets. The girl reluctantly agreed to talk to Siasat correspondent. Spitting gutkha from her mouth she revealed that her partner ‘Bi amma’ is an old woman of their village who is physically disabled. The girl goes for begging along with the old woman, and whatever is received is equally distributed between them. Whatever rickshaw or tri-cycle is used the rental of Rs. 25 per day is paid. ‘We drink tea at a hotel in Nawab Saheb Kunta before leaving for begging.’ She said. It is also revealed that they have their lunch and dinner at hotel.
