Washington: Scarlett Johansson opened up out about the use of her face in numerous pornographic videos and said that it is useless to fight against them.
In a recent interview with The Washington Post, Johansson explained that why everybody, not just celebrities, could find themselves starring in “deepfakes,” a type of explicit content where anyone can utilise easily-obtainable software to insert people’s faces onto the bodies of others, creating seemingly authentic-looking videos.
“Clearly this doesn’t affect me as much because people assume it’s not actually me in a porno, however demeaning it is,” she said, calling it “a useless pursuit.”
Highlighting the fact that there is nothing she can really do about it, she revealed that she had sadly been down this road many times.
The remarks come at a time when a video featuring Johansson’s face has been watched over 1.5 million times on a major porn site.
