Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today made a fervent appeal to the people of Hyderabad and fluoride hit Nalgonda district to be cautious in using drinking water as there is shortfall of resources in Krishna River.
KCR asked the officials to make alternative arrangements immediately to avoid inconvenience to the people and check the problem. He cautioned that the people of the two districts should restrict themselves using waters in less quantity avoiding wastage as water availability in Krishana is less than the minimum level. While Krishna did not receive waters this year so far, there is less water than dead storage in Nagarjuna Sagar project, the chief minister averred. Keeping the shortage in view, the people should be cautious in using drinking water now onwards, he said. A situation is prevailing that there will be problem in supply of water to these two districts.
The Chief Minister directed the officials to supply Singur waters to Hyderabad to quench the thirst of the people, from Tuesday night. KCR also instructed them to take immediate steps to supply waters to Nalgonda by shifting waters to Udaya Samudram via Akkampally from Nagarjuna Sagar.(NSS)
