Setting aside Rs 10 crore funds with Collectors to address immediate needs of the people in every district, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today directed the former to act swiftly, focus on cleanliness by providing dustbins to every household and set up a separate dumping yard at every village. The Chief Minister while giving direction to the district officials at a two-day Collectors conference here, asked the officials to make use of the funds so as to address the needs of the people. The Collectors should make use of the funds to allot Rs 12,000 for construction of a toilet in every house and Rs 65,000 towards community toilets and immediate steps to provide better roads, he said adding that rural banks which were shifted to towns should be brought back. He directed them to remove fake ration card holders and pensioners as Aasara scheme and food security cards are aimed at helping the deserving poor. Since the population in towns will be reaching 50 per cent soon from current 41 per cent, steps should be taken to cater to the future needs. He also asked them to set up Ryotu bazaars, parks, market yards, burial grounds, dumping yards and other amenities.

Every rupee of the scheme should transparently reach out to the un-reached and the deprived classes, he directed. The Collectors should look into drinking water grid works and take the responsibility to implement the welfare schemes cent per cent and help people get benefits, he said. He interacted with colleagues, MLAs, Collectors, JCs and SPs on Aasara pensions, Swatch Telangana on line with Swatch Bharath.
