US strategic targets in Muslim world

The statements emitting from White House and Pentagon during months of September and October 2011 are not without substance. US President Barack Hussain Obama has rightly said about US and allies’ presence in Afghanistan and Pakistan in his speech released on 22 June 2011 that “This is the beginning but not the end of our effort to wind down this war.” Despite the fact that Afghan security forces have grown by over 100,000 troops and in some provinces and municipalities they are performing well in cooperation with Taliban leaders, Washington is not ready to transition responsibility for security to the Afghan people. NATO Summit is scheduled to be held in Chicago in May 2012, to plan next phase of western democracy. One wonder is this democracy to invade other country and prolong illegitimate occupation for over a decade. It is irony that a country which has rich civilization, traditions, culture and history is being taughrt lessons how to rule and spend life by illegitimates. For the students of history, the period of one decade of US intrusion in Afghanistan and parts of Pakistan reflects western democracy. In a nutshell, western democracy advocated by US and Britain allows the overthrow and execution of democratically elected leadership of any country, if they hold religious extremist views or their values are inconsistent with the western values.

On ground realty cannot be denied that those who stood up against the aliens who have invaded their country or were suspected to be following groups which were vocal against western systems and values and held sympathetic views towards anti-west school of thought, were eliminated along with their families through drone attacks and mass slaughter. It is irony that US President openly confessed about the genocide of other nations and interference in other countries’ internal affairs but no one is there to take action. In the same speech he said, “Of course, our efforts must also address terrorist safe havens in Pakistan. No country is more endangered by the presence of violent extremists, which is why we will continue to press Pakistan to expand its participation in securing a more peaceful future for this war-torn region. We will work with the Pakistani government to root out the cancer of violent extremism, and we will insist that it keeps its commitments. For there should be no doubt that so long as I am President, the United States will never tolerate a safe haven for those who aim to kill us. They cannot elude us, nor escape the justice they deserve.”

US President Barack Hussain Obama’s speech released of 22 June 2011 is, in fact, one of the main documents which dictate Washington’s intention towards Muslim world. Many people would not agree to the selection of the word “Muslim World” but after witnessing what is happening in Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Palestine, Sudan, Somalia and elsewhere, no one would stress on the point. One wonders Libyan leader had been announcing at the top of his pitch that foreign sponsored terrorists have attacked his country but everyone put a deaf ear on his claim. Rather, to the height of embarrassment, so called democratic leaders and Presidents of other countries started visiting Libya without any visa, legal document or verbal permission and conspired with rebels to wage armed war against Libyan legitimate government. Barack Hussain Obama said in the same 22 June speech “When threatened, we must respond with force but when that force can be targeted, we need not deploy large armies overseas. When innocents are being slaughtered and global security endangered, we don’t have to choose between standing idly by or acting on our own. Instead, we must rally international action, which we’re doing in Libya, where we do not have a single soldier on the ground, but are supporting allies in protecting the Libyan people and giving them the chance to determine their own destiny.” One wonders if this dark-age’s strategy is democracy how any peace loving countries would be able to defend their sovereignty and territorial integrity.

President Barack Hussain Obama claims that Al Qaeda’s leaders had escaped into Pakistan and were plotting new attacks, while the Taliban had regrouped and gone on the offensive. If there is slightest truth in this allegation one would like to ask a question that how do they move and target US and allies in Afghanistan. Do they have helicopters, train service in rugged mountains or military vehicles that allow them to target foreign forces with tremendous speed like sitting ducks? US has officially admitted that over 1500 military personnel have been killed in Afghanistan up to May 2011 which brings the figure of 13 deaths per month throughout ten years of US occupation of Afghanistan. No sane person is going to believe that with such an impressive record, the Mujahideen can escape into Pakistan and target aliens from several hundred miles away. One must understand that US is prolonging its military presence by placing handful of its remaining personnel in fortified bases in Afghanistan and Pakistan. US is also able to raise new private armies on the lines of SWAT (Special Weapons And Tactics) teams, in which non-US citizens are being recruited in its Army. A good number among them from Asia and Arabia are also being offered American citizenship.

The sole aim behind Washington’s capitalistic, imperialistic and dictatorial approach is to economically stabilize western world and defeat Muslims from becoming Islamic economy. No doubt, it is a fun time for those sitting in Washington and making assessment of US war expenditure in Afghanistan, Iraq and Pakistan. The War of Terror is, in fact, worst example of corruption by Department of Defense, Department of State and the US Agency for International Development (USAID) contractors. Not to mention about money earned through narcotics trade and other businesses in Afghanistan, billions of dollars have been either transferred into US kitty or have been distributed among the planners and executers of War on Terror. The strategy is quite simple; deaths of some of the street swindlers along with self engineered propaganda material against US and off you go to put additional burden on American tax payers as well as international partners. The bulk of US and allies combat forces have already left Afghanistan have been replaced by handful of personnel looking after security and projects. President Obama claims that Al Qaida has failed in its effort to portray America as a nation at war with Islam, thereby draining more widespread support. Has anyone given a thought that how many innocent Muslim men women and children US and allies forces have killed in Afghanistan, Pakistan and elsewhere just to prove Al Qaida’s notion false?
