US steals classified files from ME

Tehran, April 06: A senior official of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Armed Forces says the US is grabbing confidential files and sensitive logistics from those Middle Eastern states faced with popular uprisings.

“Fearing popular revolutions in regional states, the Americans are engaged in collecting classified documents and sensitive logistics of such countries and transferring them back to the United Sates,” IRNA quoted the unnamed intelligence official as saying on Wednesday.

The US transfers such documents and gadgets to its warships deployed in regional waters in order to send them off to Washington, said the official.

He warned that the US takes the initiative to prevent the “reverse use” of such items by the people and future independent governments in the region against American interests.

The Iranian security official added that while the US is involved in transferring out top secret material out of despotic regional states facing revolutions of an Islamic nature, it is also engaged in offering support to and keeping silent about the bloody crackdowns against popular uprisings and revolutions across the region.

In recent months, a wave of revolutions and anti-government uprisings has been sweeping the Arab world.

In January, a revolution in Tunisia ended the 23-year rule of former President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali.

In February, another Arab revolution led to the ouster of former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak after three decades of his authoritarian rule.

Revolutions have erupted in Libya, Yemen and Bahrain, while numerous anti-government unrests have been reported in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Oman, Kuwait and Algeria.

Meanwhile, more Arab countries are expected to witness similar revolts.
