Kabul, August 23: A U.S. soldier died from non-combat related injuries on Saturday, officials said.
Officials did not immediately provide details on what caused his injuries, but said that the incident is currently under investigation.
“Afghanistan continues to be a dangerous place and the loss of a service member is a significant loss to the families involved and our forces here,” said Col. Wayne Shanks, a spokesman for the NATO-led ISAF alliance. “I extend my heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of this service member.”
A military spokesman, Jon Stock, confirmed the soldier was from the United States.
