Washington, August 26: US senator Ted Kennedy passed away on late Tuesday night after a yearlong battle with brain cancer. He was 77.
Edward M. Kennedy represented Massachusetts in the US senate for 46 years.
He was last surviving brother of a storied political family.
Kennedy was elected to the Senate in 1962, when his brother John Kennedy was The US president.
